Emaar announces AED1.5 billion expansion of Dubai Mall

Emaar Properties has announced a monumental expansion of

Dubai Mall , which will include 240 new luxury stores and food and beverage outlets . This project represents an investment of AED1.5 billion and the contractor is already mobilising on-site .
Announcing the impressive enhancement , Mohamed Alabbar , Founder of Emaar Properties , said : “ The new Dubai Mall expansion is a great addition to one of the most visited sites in the world . In 2023 , Dubai Mall achieved a new attendance record with 105 million visitors , a 19 % increase from the previous year , coupled with exceptionally strong sales .
The momentum continues in 2024 , as Dubai Mall remains a global retail and leisure icon , offering innovative experiences while maintaining high customer satisfaction ratings .
Inaugurated in 2008 , Dubai Mall is the epicentre of modern retail and leisure in Dubai . It is the world ’ s second largest shopping malls , measuring an impressive 1.2 million square metres . It has more than 1,200 retail outlets , including two anchor department stores , Galeries Lafayette and Bloomingdale ’ s , along with over 200 international dining experiences .

Toyota Alabama expands production with 350 new jobs

Toyota is growing its Huntsville plant production capabilities with a US $ 282 million investment and adding more than 350 new , high-quality jobs with long-term stability , affirming its commitment to reinvesting profits in its U . S . operations . This brings the total investment in Toyota Alabama to more than US $ 1.7 billion . The plant is already an engine powerhouse , and this venture adds new lines for drivetrain products . team . Toyota Alabama currently supplies engines to seven Toyota vehicle plants in North America . The Huntsville-assembled engines power the Corolla , Corolla Cross , Highlander , RAV4 , Sequoia , Sienna , Tacoma and Tundra .

Toyota Alabama is the company ’ s largest engine producer in North America , employing more than 2,000 dedicated team members who assembled more than 770,000 engines in 2023 .
